Scheduling & Volunteer Coordinator

Permanent full time weekdays

7:00 am 3:00 pm (flexibility is required)

Volunteers are your customer and the agency’s community ambassadors! A customer focused team player is required to schedule our diverse & large volunteer meal delivery team and manage our meal delivery processes. You are thoughtful and compassionate, a quick learner who enjoys a fast paced environment. You can work well under pressure and focus to meet critical timelines. You also have great communication and organizational skills. Post-secondary education, certification and/or experience in volunteer management or related human service field is a definite asset.

Your caring, outgoing and energetic nature, attention to detail & experience in office administration will allow you to support our volunteers.  Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications & data base management is required.  A security clearance, acceptable driver’s abstract & use of your own vehicle for work purposes are mandatory.

Temporary full time weekdays

6:00 am 2:00 pm

We require a full time Journeyman Cook to work 6:00 am – 2:00 pm weekdays – no evenings or weekends for a temporary position until the incumbent comes back. The prime responsibilities include quantity scratch cooking and packaging of high quality, nutritious and tasty meals including therapeutic and specialized diets for our clients. This person shall display and adhere to strict food handling, storage and safety, cleanliness and hygiene while participating as a team in the overall cleaning, organization and food production. Excellent time management, retention of information, organization and interpersonal skills required. Must be able to follow recipes and take direction well.

We are looking for a high energy person who is detail orientated, gets along well with a diverse mix of people, has excellent English skills, enjoys a team approach and has superior time management in a fast paced kitchen. Food and Production Manager

Under the general direction of the Executive Director and consistent with the organization’s mission, the Food and Production Manager is responsible and accountable for the highest level of food services we can offer to our clients moving our products, programs, practices and services above and beyond the status quo.

The Manager works closely with the Floor Supervisor and has overall responsibility for the efficient and effective management of the production center including staffing, maintaining the food safety and sanitation plan, purchasing and inventory, quality food production and all daily operations in accordance with agency policies, standards, quality assurance measures and government legislation. The direct accountabilities include, but are not limited to, managing vendor relations, staffing, new program or process development and improvement, menu, recipe and product development and testing, budget controls, nutrition labelling, compliance with legislation and maintenance of physical plant.

As a positive, energetic, experienced and organized person you lead by example and maintain a positive, engaged food service team while ensuring challenges are turned into opportunities.  You are a critical and forward thinker, team player and problem solver who enjoys working in a fast paced environment meeting critical deadlines always with a smile and professional manner.

This is an administrative role including hands on in the absence of cooks and other staff supporting day to day as necessary. The successful candidate will have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, data base management and on line food service systems.



Journeyman Cook certification/ Red Seal designation and/or Food Management certificate from a recognized training institution. Current First Aid Certificate is required.


5 to 7 years progressive management responsibility within the food industry.  Implementation of new food related program initiatives or quality improvements are definite assets.

Skills and Competencies required:

Detail oriented with great time management skills. Able to respond quickly and positively within a fast paced environment and can calmly adapt to and lead through a changing landscape or priorities.  Knowledge of the Edmonton food service network with keen sense of optimizing best quality for fair price.  Is a critical and analytical thinker with exceptional problem solving abilities. Is a change agent. Enjoys working with a diverse mix of people many of whom are volunteers.
