Edmonton Meals on Wheels Increases Meal Production Amid COVID-19 Pandemic

Resources are focused on serving Edmonton’s home bound, isolated and most vulnerable

Ours is an essential service and Edmonton Meals on Wheels has responded. Working 24/7, we have increased meal production to ensure we are able to meet the growing needs for meal services and delivery. The community is assured our meals remain affordable, nutritious, and healthy.   Whether a person is self-isolating, experiencing very limited income, homebound, or isolated our mandate is to serve all who require our meal services. Chef’s Choice® frozen meals, daily meal delivery, and weekly grocery delivery are all available.

We are closely following the expectations of our respected health authorities to minimize any potential risk.   Our health and safety measures have advanced and include enhanced volunteer screening, delivery, facility sanitation and food preparation. Social distancing measures and daily health assessments are also implemented to support a safe environment for our staff and volunteers.  Clients are assured these safety measures are in place.

Edmonton Meals on Wheels is very fortunate to be a part of a strong network within the city.  We will continue conversations within the senior’s sector and our members of government to ensure we are receiving the support we require in order to meet the growing needs of our community.

We encourage Edmontonians to connect with us through social media or by email at emow@mealsonwheelsedmonton.org. This leaves our phone lines free for donors and those who have no other means but telephone contact. We apologize in advance if there is a delay in responding to your inquiry.

You can support Edmonton Meals on Wheels’ emergency meal programs by signing up to voluneer, or making a donation online or by calling 780.429.2020. Your generosity in this time of need is greatly appreciated.
