Looking to give back this fall? Here's a quick list of ways that you can support Edmonton Meals on Wheels!
- Purchase a Raffle Ticket and See Where It Will Take You
Have you purchased your WestJet and VIA Rail raffle tickets, yet? With all proceeds going towards supporting your isolated neighbours, it’s a great way to give back. The best part? You can purchase your raffle tickets online by clicking here. Try your luck and help hose in need!
- Donate Your Extra Produce to Grow-A-Row
Do you have a garden with extra bounty? Potatoes, dill, squash, any fresh produce helps to keep our kitchen costs low. This also helps to keep our meals healthy and the menu exciting for our clients in need. Donations can be dropped off at our office (11111 103 Ave.) Monday through Friday, 8:00AM-5:30PM.
- Spend a Few Hours Socializing with Your Isolated Neighbours
Do you have some free time during the week to visit with your homebound neighbours and deliver them healthy food to enjoy? If so, join us as a Daytime Delivery Driver! Needing over 25 volunteers a day for this role, we are always happy to add more volunteers to our regular schedule. To apply, click here.
- Show Us Some Social Media Love
Do you have Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook? If so, stay in touch with us through those channels. Feel free to tag, talk about, and share the message of how much homebound Edmontonians benefit from Edmonton Meals on Wheels. Sharing with your network means that we are able to connect with a larger audience and will help us grow to be able to continue to help those in need. To connect with us, click here for Twitter, here for Facebook, and here for Instagram.
- Donate the Gift of Fuel
Volunteers drive hundreds of kilometres each day in our vans. To cover this, gas gift cards are always appreciated and happily accepted! To keep our meals on fueled wheels, consider donating a gas gift card during office hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00AM-4:00PM at our office (11111 103 Ave.).
- Get Crafty- Make Your Homebound Neighbours’ Day
Nothing warms the heart more than a homemade card. Each time one gets sent out to clients, they are filled with thanks and appreciation for someone thinking to be so kind. With fall and Thanksgiving on the horizon, there is always something to send well wishes about. Cards can be dropped off at our office Monday through Friday, 8:00AM-4:30PM.
- Stay in the Loop
Have you signed up to receive our E-newsletter? In it you’ll find job opportunities, event invitations, volunteer opportunities, and more! Most importantly, each letter starts with a quote from a client letting you know how much your support means to them. To sign up, click here.
