Our Grow a Row campaign is in full swing! If you’re a dedicated gardener who believes in giving back to the community, consider donating some of your extra produce to Edmonton Meals on Wheels.
Grow a Row highlights the importance of fresh, healthy, and locally-grown food. Produce donations will be incorporated into our summer menu, allowing our clients to enjoy fresh fruits, vegetables, and herbs on a daily basis. Items such as rhubarb, beets, squash, carrots, apples, and herbs will be utilized by our kitchen team in a variety of our Chef’s Choice Hot & Frozen Entrees.
Donating a portion of your produce to Grow a Row lowers the costs of making meals, which allows us to continue providing low cost, nutritious meals to those who need assistance.
In 2015, over 1600 lbs. of home-grown produce was donated to the Grow a Row program by generous Edmontonians.
Produce donations can be dropped off between 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. Monday, Tuesday & Friday at the Edmonton Meals on Wheels office (11111 103 Ave), and 8am - 5pm on Wednesday & Thursday. For more information on Grow a Row, please call 780-429-2020 or email us.
