Seven Easy and Fun Ways You Can Help Edmonton Meals on Wheels This Summer

It’s summertime and the living is easy. Maybe you’ve found yourself with a little time on your hands. Perhaps you’re wanting to give back to those within this amazing city. How about helping your homebound neighbours by supporting Edmonton Meals on Wheels? From artisan ice pop trucks to exploring the city by delivering meals, there are so many ways that you can give back this summer!

  1. Grow an Extra Row in Your Garden

Exercise that green thumb and plant some extra rows of produce! At Edmonton Meals on Wheels, we rely on our Grow-a-Row program to provide extra veggies, fruits, and herbs for our kitchen. With contributions totaling over 3,400 pounds last summer, clients were able to enjoy garden fresh produce, thanks to Grow-a-Row donors. Furthermore, this helped substantially with overall costs in the kitchen. If you have any freshly grown produce that you would like to donate to Edmonton Meals on Wheels, call 780-429-2020 to arrange a time to visit their office located at 11111 103 Ave. Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM- 7:00 PM.

  1. Become a Daytime Volunteer Delivery Driver

We are currently in need of Daytime Volunteer Delivery Drivers. This rewarding role is also one of the hardest to fill due to the necessary daytime as well as vehicle availability. What does this role look like? It takes about three hours of your time, from 10:00 AM- 1:00 PM and just requires a vehicle and a smile! You will get to talk to clients while delivering healthy meals to their door. To sign up or for more information, click here.

  1. Head to Craft Beer Market to Sip Your Way to a Donation

Do you enjoy a delicious beer on a roof-top patio, from time to time? Consider Craft Beer Market as your next destination for soaking up the sun and enjoying a well-deserved beverage! From June 1st- September 1st, they will be donating $1 from every 2D New England Sour Mojito IPA to Edmonton Meals on Wheels. Sip your way to a donation for your homebound neighbours this summer at Craft Beer Market!

  1. Donate to Help Fund Meals on Wheels Programs and Services
