What a year it has been! With the help of our amazing community, Edmonton Meals on Wheels was able to exceed our Christmas fundraising goal. To all of our donors: we can’t thank you enough. Every dollar counts in a cause that is so needed. This money means that we are able to continue to provide our clients with food and services that are vital to their well-being. From large corporate supporters to individual donations, every bit of help holds a special place in our hearts. We have had several groups that took on sponsoring breakfasts, soups, and full meals for our clients in need. For this, we thank you. Your generosity has made a difference in the lives of those who need it most. Merci, dzięki, gracias. There are so many different ways to say thank you, but the ones that mean the most are from the clients whose lives have been changed.
“If it wasn’t for Meals on Wheels, I don’t think I would eat.”-Client, Larry
“I am really enjoying the food. I also want to thank you for caring about me so much.” - Client, Joanne
“My family lives out of town. Thank God for services like yours.” – Client, Judy
“This is the best thing for someone who is homebound. Thank you so much.” - Client, Monica
“You saved my life.”- Client, Rita
In addition to monetary donations, Edmonton Meals on Wheels supporters came out in numbers this year for our annual Holiday Gift Drive. The kind donations from our community meant that our volunteers were able to spread extra holiday cheer to isolated Edmontonians this season. Within hours of the gifts being delivered, our office was flooded with “thank you” calls from several clients. The large amount of gifts that were donated helped to fight the holiday blues for our clients in a big way.
Donors and supporters, we thank you so much for your ongoing help. Because of you, we are able to service all of Edmonton, even as it keeps growing. Your donations have allowed us to cover the costs that come along with a rising meal subsidy rate for our low-income clients. Your support means that we are able to provide necessary help for homebound individuals who depend on our services. And most importantly, together, we are able to provide hope.
Thank you again, Edmonton, for another great year!
